A Message from Dr. Kelly Cagle
This Bible study was born out of a really hard season in our family.
When one of my sons was just 6 years old, he began experiencing panic attacks. As parents, watching your child battle fear and anxiety is heartbreaking. We asked him so many questions, trying to get to the root of the issue.
My husband and I felt so helpless. We wanted to fix it. We wanted to take the fear away while we waited to see if our little boy would show up (again) by our bed in the wee hours of the night…
But the truth is, we quickly realized that our own understanding and strength were not enough to restore our little boy’s mind.
So we turned to the only place we knew to go: God’s promises.
Night after night, Scripture became our anchor. We prayed over him. We reminded him of Truth. We spoke God’s promises into the fears trying to consume his thoughts. Slowly, we watched peace begin to replace panic. Hope began to rise again.
That journey changed our family forever.
As a mother, educator, and researcher, I became deeply passionate about helping children understand that their minds are extremely important and unique… and that they do not have to remain trapped by fear, insecurity, anxiety, or lies.
My prayer for this study is that children would not simply memorize Bible verses, but truly experience the power of God’s Truth washing over their minds like waves, renewing their thoughts, strengthening their identity, and reminding them that they are deeply loved, intentionally created, and never alone.
The battles in our minds are real. But so are the promises of God.
